Ceramics from the ruins of the church of St. George in the village of Ankhua

Two fragments of the lower parts of pithos (large ceramic vessels) and small fragments of ceramics. On July 22 2019, they were discovered during a working trip of Archimandrite Dorotheos (Dbar) and employees of the Department for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Church of St. George in the village of Ankhua, Gudauta district, in the territory adjacent to the ruins of the church (from the western and southern sides). These fragments of ceramics appeared on the surface of the earth due to torrential rains, which eroded the upper layer of the soil previously cleared from thickets.
