On 5 October, 2022 in Maykop, the Republic of Adygea of the Russian Federation, a delegation of the Holy Metropolis of Abkhazia met with the Archbishop of Maikop and Adygea (Russian Orthodox Church) Tikhon (Lobkovsky) and the clergy of the diocese. The delegation of HMA included abbot of the New Athos Monastery, Hierodeacon David (Sarsania), member of the Council of HMA R. V. Pandaria, member of the Council and legal adviser of HMA D. P. Yalanchidi, employee of HMA V. Kh. Argun, as well as a representative of the Orthodox flock of Abkhazia R. P. Rabaya.
The ecclesiastical proceedings of the Maikop and Adygea diocese over Archimandrite Dorotheos (Dbar), Chairman of the HMA Council, was discussed at a meeting with Archbishop Tikhon of Maikop and Adygea. Participants of the meeting shared their views on this issue and expressed hope, with God’s help and love in Christ, to continue the dialogue and resolve canonical problems.
Archbishop of Maikop and Adygea Tikhon thanked the HMA delegation for coming to Maikop, noting that it was the first meeting in a long period of time. Father Tikhon noted the need for a personal meeting with Archimandrite Dorotheos (Dbar).
