On 12-13 May 2022, the 1st International Shinkuba Readings took place at the Abkhaz Institute for Humanitarian Research named after. D. Gulia ANA, dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the People’s Poet of Abkhazia, academician, statesman Bagrat Shinkuba. At the readings, about 40 different scientific reports were made in three sections.
The session was attended by Doctor of Theology, Leading Researcher of the Department of History of the Abkhaz Institute for Humanitarian Research named after. D. Gulia ANA, Chairman of the Council of the Holy Metropolis of Abkhazia, Archimandrite Dorotheos (Dbar). He made a report on “a plot of the historical novel by Bagrat Shinkuba “Ацынҵәарах” and the deportation of Christian Abkhazians to the territory of the Ottoman Empire”.
In addition, Archimandrite Dorotheos (Dbar), together with the director of the Humanitarian Institute, head of the Department of History of the North Caucasus Federal University, M. E. Kolesnikova, was the head of the 3rd section “Ethnocultural processes in historical, literary and philosophical contexts”.
