On 27 September 2019, on the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in the Cathedral Church of the New Athos Monastery, after the Divine Liturgy, the newly painted icons were consecrated for the iconostasis, established in 2017.

Icons (152 × 73 cm) were painted by Byzantine-style icon painter Vladimir Guk, covered with gold leaf and inscriptions in the Abkhaz language.

Currently, images of Christ Pantocrator, the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Martyr Panteleimon and the holy archangels in the deacon’s doors are placed in the iconostasis.

Over the past three years, under the guidance of the abbot of the New Athos Monastery, Hierodeacon David (Sarsaniya), iconostasis have been made and new icons have been painted.
