In April and May 2020, agricultural works were carried out on the south side of the upland part of the monastery of St. Apostle Simon the Canaanite in New Athos, the territory adjacent to the Kyrortnaya street and the “House of the Monk Tiberius”, also located at the entrance arch of the New Athos Monastery.

The territory was cleared of wild vegetation and weeds, seasonal pruning of fruit trees was made and a piece of land was cultivated for the monastery garden.

The monastery garden was created for the first time after the revival of monastic life in the New Athos Monastery in 1994. Various vegetables grow in the garden: tomatoes, cucumbers, kohlrabi, peppers, eggplant, radishes, daikon, onions, garlic and so on.
