On 24-26 February in Sukhum, it took place a refresher course on the topic of “Clinical skills of a social worker: constructive interaction with customers and motivational interviewing”. The course was prepared by the Sukhum office of the Children’s Fund of UN (UNICEF).
Together with the social workers of the Children’s welfare service, employees of the Social Service and Charity Department of HMA took part in the refresher course for social workers. The abbot of the monastery of Simon the Canaanite Ab David (Sarsaniya) attended the course as well.
The refresher course was led by Marina Zemlyanykh, the consultant of UNICEF, a candidate of medical sciences, Associate Professor of Psychosomatic Medicine Department of St. Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University.
The Department of Social Service and Charity of HMA has been operating at the New Athos Monastery since 2014 and cooperates with the newly formed structure of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Abkhazia on issues of assistance to needy families.
