The ruins of a medieval church № 2, located in the village of Bzhylua (Ankhua), Gudauta district, were cleared of wild vegetation in 2018. After the cleansing of the church there were heavy rains, they exposed the topsoil, which revealed a number of artifacts.

On 10 August 2019, during an expedition trip to the village of Ankhua, Archimandrite Dorotheos (Dbar) discovered 9 fragments of ceramic roof and utensils within the ruins of a medieval church on the surface of the earth
